Dehradun Municipal Corporation along with Dehradun Waste Management Pvt Ltd is planning to set up a 6.0 MW waste to energy power plant in Sheedambara in Dehradun. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 1,000 million. The project involves setting up of 3-4 furnaces which will be operated in two shifts. Currently, the town is generating 350 metric tonne of garbage per day and the upcoming plant will use the whole of garbage generated.
